Windows 10 login as different user free

I am assisting my parents with a new Windows 10 laptop. They have forgotten the password that was setup for the account showing on the laptop. After going here to Microsoft. I am trying to log in with the correct id but I am not seeing an option on the login screen to enter a different user id. How can I reach this option. Was this reply helpful? The problem we’re having is we don’t know the password for the “wrong” email so therefore we don’t have access inside of Windows I was able to register the incorrect email and gain access to their computer.

I then updated their Microsoft account with the correct password. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Jay Independent Advisor. Hi Andrew-Auton I’ll try to help you on this issue. You can change the microsoft account on your laptop : – log in the computer, using the “wrong” email adress – go to settings – accounts Select the option to go with “local account” Then you should be able to add another microsoft account, with the correct email adress this time.

The device is set up with two local accounts on it – the super user and the normal user. I need to have fast user switching disabled and I want to set it up so that users must type in the relevant username each time the computer turns on. For some reason when I start or reboot the computer, the initial sign-in screen does not show the “Other User” login prompt requiring me to enter in the username and password , it only shows the last user that was logged onto the computer and I have no option but to log in as that user.

I also cannot find any option to change the logon to a different user at the initial login screen. If I log out of the current user from the desktop, then the correct “Other User” sign-in screen appears.
