Office products periodically check their licensed status online with Microsoft services, they are subscription based. Technically you dont, you have the internet, they do not, and it’s required to keep an activated status.

Running Office ProPlus, Windows Installed on and ran great for 14 days. Tried the recommended solutions, with no change. Compatibility mode is not checked. No other installs or updates since the original install. When I did connect to the internet the message went away and the application ran. I disconnected from the internet and still no issues. I am concerned that after another period of time the same issue will reappear.
