When I download I get some useless help software. Don’t know how to get hold of an appropriate human at HP. There is somethign called HP support assistant which is supposed find hp devices on your computer and install the appropropriate device drivers.

Although my operating system recognises that I have a Scanjet the HP support assistant fails to find anything installed. When I replaced my pc with a much faster model I found that the scanjet youid not communicate with a directly connect usb port- it worked when plugged through a dongle. How do you get hold of a human being or get help???????

I wonder How hard is it to just give me a plain driver? And, when you release it, did you even bother to test it? Install the software prior to connecting the scanner.
