This too was deleted. Personally I’m happy with the one from I’d hate to loose all my hotspot data while they’re updating all of this. Boy their new version of Microsoft note has no cool whatsoever. Tough to navigate when tabs are at the top. Tough to see what you’ve got. I’m even liable to get them down in court.

I’d call it an exploitation of our excitement about a new product, and perhaps a bow to the NSA. According to one evaluator, windows 10 is only number 6 in operating systems.

I am working on my dissertation and just upgraded to Windows 10 and was experiencing the same – all of my word files appeared for a split second and disappeared. I have the Word docx icon back again!! This was on a Win 8. So I turned my attention to the Win10 machine, which is the one where I could open a docx file from the hard disk but not an attachment from my favourite mail reader.

Changed it and that works now, even opening from an email attachment! Once uninstalled all the word and excel files instantly returned to their proper state without a reboot. I plan to install it at a later date when Microsoft has patched this mess. I have good backups and restore points. The update that is responsible for the issue is below. A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft Office 64BIT Edition that could allow arbitrary code to run when a maliciously modified file is opened.

Vijender Kumar u Hi I noticed some two days ago that all office file type icons turned to generic white icons. I searched everything of relevance on Microsoft Community but without any success. Though every ms app is working as it should, it rankles to see the white icons instead. Thanks Vijender K. This thread is locked.
