The VU’s actually work, and it has got tripped out features. Well Wow. Broadcast Love – I’ve worked in broadcasting for more than 15 years, and my production-tech-side has fond memories of Otari which makes a darn good reel to reel that looks a lot like this. So perhaps it should come as no surprise that I sort of fell in love with this one.

I like seeing the reels turn to confirm action as if the sound weren’t enough, duh! The funny thing is I’ve found myself avoiding touching those reels out of force of habit so I won’t funk up the playback Anyway, it’s obviously pretty, and functional, and on a P2 with mg memory it’s not too much of an energy drag.

The down side, to be honest, is that for me, and anyone else, you’d better be into the graphics as part of this design effectively makes memorization of functions a devotion of love. While some are obvious arrows etc are fairly classicly understood you will have to spend a few moments discovering what to hover over to get to the other controls.

So that gets this rated as a 4 instead of a five, which I think is fair. But it does make your sytem look quite cool. Your friends may ask you as they did me if your computer is actually interfaced with some real hardware I just got this computer this week and I downloaded this skin my computer just went up in vallue Joey – April 15, by Joey Page.

Bloody brilliant! Well done. I particularly like the interface switch from reel to reel to cassette Depending on how retro one feels. Perhaps add a third view of a turntable or vertical CD player for the next release. Grade A Skin! Grrrreat skin – I remember these reel to reel decks were the epitamy of sound recording devices. This is one great skin. My congrats to Mike. Great job. It looks very well done, and like it has been worked on for a long time. Super Teil!!! Super gemacht. Cool skin!!!! Kill it and your skin will be the best!!! The Definitive Skin – This is the best winamp skin ever. It retains the flavor of what winamp looked like when it first came out and also has all them latest 5. Ron – This skin gives a great initial impression, which is hardly surprising considering the complexity of it.

Hats off to the designer- I bet a heck of a lot of work into making it.
